Ballet
Ballet is the foundational genre for every other class your young dancer will take. It is integral to giving your dancers grace, poise, body placement, and core strength which they will carry throughout the other dance disciplines. It is the underpinning of most truly great dancers.
Ballet Level 1 (ages 6+)
This class is a beginner level class for new ballerinas in this age range. Students will learn Ballet fundamentals, vocabulary, musicality, perform barre and center exercises, and acquire core strength. This class does participate in the recital at the end of the year.
Ballet Level 2 (ages 8+)
This class is dedicated to Ballet basics including barre exercises, exercises in center, allegro and adagio. This class is for the beginner ballerina that has either never taken Ballet but is over age 9 or who is under age 10 and has only 1-2 years’ experience. All students in the 8+ age range are eligible for this class. This class does participate in the recital at the end of the year.
Ballet Level 3 (ages 10+)
This class is a beginning to intermediate level class dedicated to Ballet basics including barre exercises, exercises in center, allegro and adagio. This class is for the age 10+ ballerina who has 1-2 years experience. This class does participate in the recital at the end of the year.
Ballet Level 4 (ages 12+)
This class is a continuation of Ballet instruction for the intermediate-advanced Ballet student age 12+ that has been attending Ballet classes for 2+ years, or has been placed in this class by an instructor.
Ballet Level 5 (ages 12+)
This class is a beginner-intermediate Ballet class that focuses on Ballet fundamentals for students age 12+ who are able to learn and apply corrections more quickly than their younger counterparts. Beginning students and students with 1-2 years of previous instruction are eligible for this class if they are in the age range of 12+, or have been placed in this class by an instructor.
Ballet Level 6 and Level 7 (ages 14+)
These classes are for the serious dancer who possesses the intrinsic motivation to become an accomplished dancer of any genre. Core strength, feet and ankle strength, and advanced technique and choreography will be the primary focuses of this class. Students must be evaluated for placement in these classes. These classes do participate in the recital at the end of the year.
